Recently, I’ve had to take over the cooking obligations from my mother. It’s now my duty to cook for the family. I could barely say no to as she’s been incapacitated by a fall. One thing I discovered is that she’s never had to buy any new cookware after all this time. It’s not marked among the best cookware sets of the year, but it doesn’t need to be. I guess extreme durability is one component. Copper cookware has no place in my mother’s kitchen though. Her faithful standbys are cast-iron pans and griddles that she says are virtually nonstick. She used to live in Asia and acquired everything she knows about cookery there.
