My grandpa is a little bit eccentric, and I love him for it. I remember once when I was a teenager, I was over visiting him. We were talking about the future, and about how he thought the government would collapse at some point. I said something about how gold prices would be good then, and he looked at me slyly, and said he wanted to show me something. He took me to his bedroom, opened his safe, and what I saw still amazes me. He had a bunch of solid gold bars, which he called his “retirement fund”. I never asked him where he got them, and to this day he still has them in there.
