I’ve Always Been Cautious
When it comes to Halloween, I’ve always been cautious about the things my children participate in. I let them go trick-or-treating, but I go with them and check their candy afterward. Any activities they attend must be in well-lit areas and be chaperoned by adults I trust. Beyond that, however, I give them a lot of freedom. They are allowed to choose their own costume, no matter how scary it is. I even let them go to Halloween Forums, as long as they are kid-friendly. I figure there is no harm in them talking about the holiday and getting ideas for costumes and activities.
